Here’s part of a flyer I’m working on for a concert right now (this is cropped, the final will be 8.5 x 11). This is a memorial show being put on for a deceased friend, the money will go to a scholarship fund we started for her.
She loved Dr. Who and internet humor, so my original concept was going to involve daleks and police boxes and kittens shooting laser beams out of their eyes, but we all eventually decided that it should take a slightly more serious route.
I was going to try to make her into a cartoon and see how that looked, but then I played around with the levels and washed everything out to make her look all ghostly and surreal. I didn’t get rid of the mouth for any particular reason, other than it’s something interesting to look at, and people can interpret it in their own way if they want (the discrimination she received for her sexuality contributed to her depression and suicide).
Constructive criticism encouraged, this isn’t done yet.
